Sant Carles district is full of almonds, fig trees and carob trees, in a rural setting sprinkled with lovely farmhouses, luminous fields and a coastline which boasts bays and coves with crystal-clear water. In addition, the area of Sant Carles has launched an intense cultural activity, because many intellectuals chose to settle here in the 1950s. Since then, concerts, exhibitions and a cosmopolitan atmosphere, all revolving around one particular bar, Anita’s (Ca n’Anneta), have enhanced the life of this municipality. Don’t forget to go in and try their well-known spirit called Hierbas Ibicencas.

JIn the village you can also see one of the beautiful island churches, constructed in 1785, rectangular in outline, a wide porch with rows of columns and with an unusual bell tower towards the left end of the building. It is surrounded with gardens in which there is a traditional well. On the outskirts, heading to Santa Eulària, there is the popular street market Las Dalias, which is surely the most extravagant in the island.

On the road from Sant Carles to Cala Llenya you can visit this country house built in the XVII century. It is interesting to visit because all the characteristic traits of Ibiza’s architecture can be studied. It has got al old mill, farming implements and an olive oil mill, apart from local antiques.
