Municipality Sant Josep de Sa Talaia
Area Sant Agustí

The watchtower is equidistant from Platges de Comte and Cala Bassa. To get to it there is a safe path at the edge of the cliffs, surrounded by wild nature. You should know that Platges de Comte, together with the rocky island Illa des Bosc (the closest one), Sa Conillera (the biggest one), S’Espartar –owing its name to the fibre produced in it-, and Ses Bledes, farther and on the right, belong to what is called a ‘Nature Area of Special Interest’.
Following the coastline from Platges de Comte you will reach En Rovira watchtower, which is one of the biggest on the island. It was built in the 18th century. It used to have two cannons and two keepers, who were on the watch for the arrival of pirates. Their function was to light a fire on top of the tower to alert villagers, who rushed to the closest churches and other inland towers.
