Balanzat tower, also called des Molar, is situated between Punta de sa Creu and Sant Miquel Port, over a cliff, 95 metres above the sea level. A wonderful panoramic view reaches S’Illa des Bosc and S’Illa Murada, Sant Miquel port and Benirràs coast.

The structure of this watchtower is typical of the island but also of the Spanish crown defensive system. It was finished in 1763, and it has got two floors, joined by a spiral staircase integrated in the walls. The entrance is on the first floor, and it was reached by a stair cord. The access to the ground floor was made in the XX century, because years back this floor stored gun power that could only be taken from inside. It never had cannons, but two men were always in charge of watching the sea.
