Municipality Santa Eulària des Riu
Area Sant Carles

Distance: 14 km from Santa Eulària and 4.5 km from Sant Carles

In this area there are several rocky beaches, all very pleasant and quiet. The most visited is Canal d’en Martí, very often wrongly called Pou des Lleó, which is in fact the previous cove. This one only has some fishing huts on one side and a gravel shore on the other. The water is pristine, deep emerald colour, and the landscape, beautiful. The well –pou- it is named after is by the sea, two metres from the ground. Don’t expect any service or bar, though in your way to the beach there is Fornda Pou des Lleó, a well-known restaurant for its seafood.

It is worth climbing to the plain above the huts to admire the spectacular sea views, and the huge rocks that emerge from the water. Long ago, Berber pirates used to disembark in the island at this spot, as we know from some popular songs. Also, at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War, in 1936, the Republican troops also disembarked there. Following on the other side, leaving es Canal d’en Martí behind, there is Torre d’en Valls, with the islet Tagomago presiding on the horizon.
