Can Caus is not only a restaurant. Joan Luis Ferrá, the owner, founded a food industry which in 1998 was expanded with this restaurant. This local and rural establishment only sells local products. Can Caus is a small complex which includes the peaceful open-air restaurant, and also the large indoor dining room, both next to the modern estate. In the estate they breed about 1.200 heads of Ibiza style goats and 600 heads of lamb, and the facilities may be visited. The goats provides them with most tender meat and also milk to produce their excellent cheese from traditional recipes. Furthermore, they produce exquisite traditional sausages as the famous sobrassada, which are sold under the name ’Companatge’. The production chain is camouflaged on the estate which, although new, faithfully reproduces Ibiza style products. Can Caus have also opened a store for the public where they sell their products and others from the islands.

Our recommendations

Can Caus combines simple recipes, a large coal grill and natural products that have been collected shortly before they are served. Among the starters, the Country salad, Tomato and goat cheese salad, Grilled sardines, the Fried potatoes are highly recommended. For a main course, you can have the Ibician kid goat, the vegetable paella, the ‘Matanza’ rice, a selection of Grilled meats, veal steak or ox T-bone steak. The list of desserts is also extensive, and on it can be found Goat cheese with country honey or Catalan cream. In the cellar are stored all the Ibician wines plus a selection of the best Spanish wines.
